Urbanitae and Letsgo raise the curtain again for ‘The Phantom of the Opera’

The magic of one of the world’s most iconic musicals returns to Madrid. Today, September 27th, The Phantom of the Opera raises the curtain once more at the Albéniz Theatre, kicking off its second season after the overwhelming success of its debut. The production, supported by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Antonio Banderas through their company Amigos Para Siempre (APS), returns to the Spanish capital, brought by the production company Letsgo, with Urbanitae as the main sponsor.

We are proud to renew our support for this musical following a first season that attracted more than 180,000 spectators with nearly 280 performances in Madrid. Over the summer, the production moved to the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao, where it continued to succeed, drawing more than 35,000 attendees across 38 performances.

The proposal by Letsgo and APS has proven to be a winning bet, not only in terms of audience but also in critical acclaim. The production has been recognized with major awards at the second edition of the Talía Awards, presented by the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts. Since its debut in London in 1986, The Phantom has become a global phenomenon, captivating over 145 million people in 186 cities and being translated into 21 different languages. With more than 70 awards, including 7 Tony Awards and 4 Olivier Awards, it is considered the most successful musical of all time and the longest-running show on Broadway.

The new season at the Albéniz Theatre promises to offer an even more impactful experience. The staging relies on cutting-edge technology to recreate the dark and fascinating world of the Phantom, while preserving the essence that has made this show a classic. This blend of tradition and innovation is what attracted Urbanitae to become a part of this project from the beginning.

Committed to culture

True to our commitment to culture and the arts, Urbanitae saw in this musical an opportunity to connect with our investors in a unique way. As leaders in real estate investment, we support initiatives that strengthen our bond with society and, at the same time, reflect our values of innovation and closeness.

Urbanitae’s sponsorship goes beyond mere financial support. The platform has recently announced a collaboration with actor Gerónimo Rauch, who plays the iconic Phantom. Rauch, who has been acclaimed for his role on stages around the world, has been Urbanitae’s brand ambassador since July.

As our CEO, Diego Gallego, says, “Our platform’s commitment is to offer unique investment opportunities, and The Phantom of the Opera is a true opportunity for the senses. As a company, we have a duty to promote enriching projects like this one.”
