Investment Risk – Urbanitae Academy is the focus of the second module, entirely dedicated to understanding what investment risk means and how to manage it. What risks do I face when I invest? How can I protect myself? And what if I do nothing with my savings? These are common questions for beginners who are unsure about risk… and also for many seasoned investors.
Urbanitae Academy is Urbanitae’s new educational platform, designed to help you learn at your own pace and invest your own way. Already available in its beta phase, the academy offers content in both Spanish and English through Kwantic, a leading-edge learning platform. What will you learn in Urbanitae Academy’s module on investment risk?
Module 2 of Urbanitae Academy, titled “Risk Management,” is designed to help you deeply understand the different types of risks that exist in the investment world and how to manage them wisely. Here are some key points:
1. What types of risks exist?
You’ll learn to distinguish between systemic risks (like an economic crisis) and non-systemic risks (such as those affecting a specific company). You’ll also explore key concepts like volatility and credit risk, clearly explained.
💬 Spoiler alert: Not investing also comes with risks. Letting your money sit idle can cause it to lose value due to inflation.
2. Strategies to protect yourself
Diversifying your investments, keeping a cool head during market ups and downs, avoiding impulsive decisions… These practices are all part of smart risk management, and this module provides practical tools to implement them.
3. Who protects you?
We’ll also explain how market regulation works and which organizations safeguard investor interests, such as the CNMV, ESMA, or the Investment Guarantee Fund (Fogain).
